OKURU RACE MEETING
(Contributed). The Okurii annual race meeting was held at Hapuka. on Easter .Monday in fine weather in the presence of a large gathering of the seniors from all parts of the district. The racing events were all well contested, and excited great interest. Results: Maiden Race Wee Alike 1, Maintain I’.oy 2, Sunbath T. Trial Handicap:—M.v.stilicd I, Molly Alawk 2, Randy 3. (lluirii Cup, i mile:—Flashlight 1, Balefire 2. Fanners’ I iaudicap :- Alnllymau 1: 1, Flashlight, 2, Balefire 3. (fkiirii Trot:—Nimble Fool 1, Sidtts 2, Alidge 3. Wanaka also started. Basil Handicap:—.Mystified 1, Candy 2.
Among the ladies'present were the following:— .Miss I). Harris, kingfisher blue satin trimmed with gold lace; Miss L. Harris, black trimmed with fur; Airs Cowan sour, black morocain; Airs A. Cron, vieux rose, knitted silk; Miss Rose Cuttance, wedgewood bluo crepe do chine trimmed with georgette; .Miss Lily Nolan, shot silk talieta; Aliss .Margaret Nolan, white brocaded silk smartly trimmed with pink roses; Aliss Florrio Cron, cerise silk, with white pipings, and red and white streamers hanging Irolii the shoulders; Aliss Irene Condon, powder blue satin apolede; Aliss Kitty Condon, flame satin trimmed, with black marabout.
