It is supposed be attempted to cross a bridge over a flooded creek and missed Ids footing. A search was made but the body has not yet been found. FIR F. AT TRENTIIAM. AYEIdJXGTOX, April 21. A lire occurred at Trcntliam (amp last night. Shortly before ft o’clock a mechanic ill charge of the power-house noticed smoke coming through the ! building, and on investigating, found | that one of the hutments close by, ; that was occupied by two members of | the power-house staff, was on fire. The camp lire brigade turned out promptly j with a hose, and succeeded in keeping : the flames to one building, which was | completely destroyed. Fortunately j there was no wind, as otherwise it j would have been difficult to have kept the fire from spreading and causing great destruction of public properly. The two men who occupied the destroy, ed building, lost their personal effects, which were of considerable value. A 'DFSTRI'CTfYF. FIRK. WELLINGTON.
