My Dear Mary, Your note to hand and now T realise why yon are called “Clever Alaiy”. Ido envy you getting through washing day so quickly and cheerfully, thanks to your economical gas copper. I still use the old stoking copper and wlmt a day 1 had yesterday. The wood was wet, the coal was vet, and it took no end of stoking to make the water hoil. It was late in the day before T had tile clothes on the line, and the shower in the late afternoon spoiled the drying T worked far into the night trying to get the washing away. Had to have a big five in the kitchen all the evening to dry off the clothes. I showed your note to .Tim and T think he was sympathetic. Anyhow he said he would call at AV. H. Shannon’s in Revell Street and see what could he done, so T hope to get through next week’s washing as comfortably as you do. Full of hope and expectation, with love, Yours Faithfully, D6ROTHY YOUKNOW.
