i AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION AN IMPRESSIVE FUNERAL. SYDNEY, Aug. 11, A military funeral of Matron Creal, matron of the Sydney Hospital for years, was olio of the most impressive witnessed in Sydney. She performed war work in Egypt, and was one of those who had a Royal Red Cross distinction bestowed on her by the King. JOCKEY CLUB REPORT. (Received This Day at 10.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 11. The annual report of tho Jockey Club states the stakes distributed last year amounted to £121,939 sterling, the added money being £101,500 sterling. The total for tho previous year was £99,533. The amount passed; through the totalisator was £1,280,000, against £1,130,OQO previously. The Government share was £106,000. Government also received £47,000 from admission and bookmakers’ Tax. Federal Entertainments Tax realised £120,000.
