AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. LONDON, August 7. The ‘‘Morning Post’s” Paris correspondent states Colonel Harvey is sitting oil the Supreme Council as observer on behalf of United States. The British delegation received an ovation when it arrived to-day a crowd of three thousand cheering England and the Entente. The sittings begin at eleven to-mor-row and are expected to last ten days The agenda consists, firstly, Upper 'Silesia ; secondly war crimineals and Leipzig verdicts; Thirdly, question of modifying sanctions imposed on Germany; fourthly military and civil aerial control ; fifthly near Eastern questions including Turco-Greek war; sixthly, Russian famine. ,
A RUPTURE POSSIBLE. LONDON, Aug. 7 'I lie “Daily Chronicle’s” Paris corre- *;> mlent states since the Armistice, Britain and France have been divided politically, the divergence over Upper I S'lesia being the final crisis.. It is doubtful if the Entente and Alliance which won the war shall exist a week hence. French extremists, who are in a majority, say smash Germany, and all will be well. The British say smash Germany and there will be a universal catastrophe. By taking Alsace-Lor-raine from Germany it was made certain there will be war in the future. Hon Lloyd George is a true friend France and a true guardian of British interests, in opposing French madness and offering Germany the same dangerous reason.
