PRINCE OF WALES’ TOUR.

Renown dropped anchor in Poverty Bay at seven o’clock this morning, and was thrown open to the public for inspection, being visited by large crowds of school children and adults during the morning. The Mayor preedited the vessel with a pedigree bulldog as a memento of the visit. The battle cruiser resumed the voyage at mid-day.
CHILDREN’S DISPLAY AT WANGANUI. WANGANUI, May 4. The children’s display, the final function in connection with the Prince of Wales’ visit to Wanganui, took place at Cook’s gardens this The day broke showery, hut the weather still remained fine for the demonstration which was a remarkably fine one, and was witnessed by a largo concourse of people. About 3000 children assembled in the gardens at 9 o’clock, drawn
up around the oval. The Prince was given a msot enthusiastic welcome on arrival. H.R.H. drove round the oval •to the accompaniment of a great outburst of cheering and flag waving. The children then formed a living fan, and then resumed their former places, the whole display being of a remarkably effective nature. The delight of the little ones at seeing the Prince was
manifested in no uncertain manner. At the conclusion of the inspection the
Prince and party boarded motors and left the ground en route for Marion, amidst a scene of great enthusiasm.
MARTON’S RECEPTION, M ALTON, T’-is Day. . Thousands, including 2000 school children from Ohakune down, accorded the Prince a Royal welcome this morning. There was, a h : ■ gathering of representatives of Local Bodies, and addresses of welcome were given by Alarton Borough, Rangitikei County Council, Marion ‘ High School, Ngatawa School. Ngatawa School presented a casket containing an album and the Maori Chieftain, Tetiki To Paerata, presented an ancient greenstone Taiha.

minutes and was accorded a magnificent reception. Thp railway station and route to the square was profusely decorated. A very large gathering amall the surrounding schools were-re-presented. He was welcomed by Mayor Harford, and representatives of local bodies. The Prince shook hands with all the returned soldiers.
