As a sequel to the motor car jewel robbery, the police learned that the thieves would attempt to dispose of the proceeds, and set a trap at a certain pawnbrokers. A man appeared but he evidently recognised the detective and fired point blank, wounding the detective twioo. An exciting chaso followed in which other detectives joined. Fifteen shots wore exchanged; but tlip suspect escaped.
