• AUSI’KAI.IAN it N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION] LONDON April 5. A wireless Gorman official message states: “We made attacks yesterday south of the Somme, and on both sides of Morenil.
“We threw the enemy out of strong positions. We broke up an old trench in which were reserves storming the attack. i- We have taken llamcl, and also the. wooded listricts north-east and south-east of Villers-Bretoiineux; also a castle.
“We have captured Mnlully on the west bank of the Avro. “The enemy desperately resisted along the whole front- sustaining unusual severe losses. “We took several thousands of prisoners at Vondujter.
“Between the 21st and 20th of March we took 01,218 prisoners and 720 guns. “Our booty to date is 00,000 prisoners, and over 1300 guns.”
