FRESH ENEMY SUCCESSES. LONDON, April 5. A later wireless German official states: Wo have won fresh successes south of the' Somme. We have bombarded Rheims as a reprisal against the French bombardment of our shelters at Laon.
A GERMAN REPORT. • AMSTERDAM, April 5. A German telegram states that the German troops hove Been told that Gen. eral Maekensen is shortly arriving with an army to bring about the final decision of the Western Front. This story ia told to wounded men who arc en route to Germany in order to encourage tho V. civilians. They also state that that lull in the offensive is owing to lack of reinforcements.
The telegrams add that the British have a groat quantity of artillery north of the Somme, and on the bend of the Ancre, ■which is most active. The French are also said , to be strongly counter-attacking with fresh divisions. changes in the German High Command are imminent. The German armies engaged are just being divided into two groups, one to fight the British and the other the French. Prince Leopold of Bavaria will command the army against the French.
