While in Wellington last week the Westland deputation aßked the Minister of Internal Affairs if the war pictures secured by the New Zealand Government could be shown on the West Const for patriotic purposes. Mr. Russell replied that tho pictures were in charge of the A.M.C.A. which appropriated half the net profits for their patriotic work. Of tho other half one quarter went to the Government, and one quarter to the Mayor of the Town where the pictures were shown. Between Wellington and Christchurch, the Minister explained, .about £I,OOO had been distributed by this means for patriotic purposes. It is likely that arrangements will be made later on for the pictures to be shown on tho West Coast.
