THE RUSSIAN DRIVE.
A STRATEGIC MOVE. (Per Press Association— Copyright) London, July 7 Tho “ Daily Chronicle's ” Retrograd correspondent states that Galicia and Petrograd are closely linked battlefields. Russia is fighting for her existence on two fronts. While General Brnsiloff continues the advance on a forty-mile front in Galicia, German agents in Petrograd are not slumbering. The latest war news shows that the offensive is not a mere demonstration, but a clear, strafe, ic plan immediately threateningßrzezany and Halicz. Tho enemy, incapable of understanding the mobile Russian mentality, is Row hastily concentrating reinforcements, including fresh formations from the interior of Germany. The enemy counter-attacked at Mieeziszczow, because the Russian army corps crossing the Zlota Li pa exposed the Austrian line to tho greatest danger. The Russians repelled the counter-attacks but did not press the advance. It is noteworthy that among the first to fall in the advance were many of the leaders of the regimental committees and delegates, from the fighting corps who bad taken part in the All Russia Congress. They .bad hastened to join in the offensive. The infantry was delighted with
the powerfnl artillery preparations, eclipsing anything seen on tho Russian front. The Czech-Slovan division particularly distinguished itself in the fighting. Meanwhile the Leninites are openly condemning the offensive, declaring that the enemy has been misled by Socialist Ministers playing into the hands of the Allied Imperialists. There is not the slightest doubt that the Leninites are making headway among the Petrograd masses. The Leninites are prepared to use their power to force the matter to a crisis. RUSSIAN REPORT.
