PATEA LICENSING COMMITTEE.

ANNUAL MEETING

• The annual meeting of the Patea LiI censing Committee was held to-day, | when there were present: Mr J. S. j Barton, S.M. (chair), and Messrs E. ! l>ixon, C. ./. Hawken, H. G. Graves, ! and J. B. Murdochj The following new applications for old houses were granted": Thomas Stanley Jones. Egmont Hotel. Hawera; i Stanley Moore, Clarendon Hotel, Wa\erleyj Nicholas ,M. McCarthy, Commercial Hotel, Waverley; William Robert ! Morse, Central Hotel, Patea; Mary Ann Hammond. Alton Hotel; Richard Delaney Dann^ Kakaramea Hotel. Renewals of licenses were granted as follow:—Mary Cramp, Central Hotel, Jawera; Robert Dare Wilson, Commercial Hotel, Hawera; Margaret C. Gibson, Royal Hotel, Hawera; John Harrington, Railway Hotel. Hawera; Margaret C. Gibson, Royal Hotel, Ha~ wera; James Niehol Anderson, White Hart Hotel, Hawe.-a; Stanislaus John Whiteford, Albion Hotel, Patea; Teter Scott Finlayson, Masonic Hotel, Patea; Annie Elizabeth Harvie, Manutahi Hotel. Wholesale licenses were granted to Johnston and Co., Ltd., Hawera•, Levin and Co., Hawera; Gibson's Ltd., Patea. A New Zealand wine license was granted David Leith Forman, of Hawera. The transfer of the license of the Kakaramea Hotel from Berkley W. Banbury to Richard D. Dunn, was granted. A new application by Andrew Laing tor the Dominion Hotel,- Hawera, was held over till next meeting pending a certificate of fitness.

The application of Isabella Nelson for the renewal of the license 67 the Railway Hotel, Waitotara, was adjourned until next meeting, in order that repairs might be carried out.

A similar application from Josenh W. L. Mills iii resreet of the Waitotara Hotel was adjou-med for one month in older to obtain a report on the condition of the building.
