The second spell was faxmore even and very willing at times, the ball travelling rapidly f,. om one end of the field to the other. Watson converted, and Charteris also kicked a goal from a mark for Patea, making the final 17 to 8. The Hawera backs showed tip to better advantage than their opponents, but both teams had good packs of forwards, although the scrum work on the whole was not good. Mr Hemingway was referee.
