A WINTER SHOW.
FOR WANGANUI. A deputation from the Wanganui Poultry Association waited on the AVanganui Provincial Executive of the Farmers' Union on Tuesday and asked for assistance to launch a winter showin Wanganui in July next. Mr Patterson said that it was the intention of the Poultry Association to run a winter show along with the association in Wanganui. It Mas thought that with the assistance of the business people and farmers that this could be done. The Agricultural Association had offered the use of their sheds for a show. Mr Gaze said that other towns in New Zealand with a much smaller populatiort than Wanganui could run a Avin- ' ter show. For instance, Ashburton, j with about 8000 people, ran a most j successful Avinter show. Mr Grant, ' late agricultural instructor at the Technical College, had offered his services to build uo the show, and the sympathies of Mr Deem had also been solicited. ' s Mr C. Smith said that they had three schools groAving root crops, and they might be induced to enter exhibits. He was strongly in favour of assisting with the Winter Show, and oossibly the farmers could also assist financially. • Mr Patterson stated that he spent an hour canvassing that morning, and had receiA'ed £12 10s in donations. i The meeting unanimously decided to . support the show, and the- matter of , financial assistance was referred te the committee.—Herald. !
