The Levin Chronicle learns that Mr. 0. H. Pyke, who, for the past eleven , years has been manager of the Bank ; of New Zealand in Levin, will retire on superannuation at the end of June ' after 42 years in the service of the bank. Mr. Pyke will not be leaving Levin, intending to take up his per- , manent residence there. I ! The Rev. J. G. S. Bartlett, of j Westmere, has been appointed organl ising secretary to the Nelson Cathei dral Board, with the special task of ■ organising the work incidental to the j raising of the balance of the fund (£60,000) required for the .erection of a new cathedral. During his residence in this district (says the Chronicle), Mr. Bartlett has been a member of St. John's Bowling Club, of which he was one of the most popular and successful skips.
