RECONSTRUCTION.

LECTURE BY A BIBLE STUDENT

Mr K. A. Kinninmonth, of Melbourne, delivered addresses in Hawera on Armageddon and Beconstruction, in the course of which he stated: Mr "Ramsay Mac Donald has informed the world of his intention to call a conference of the world's statesmen to consider the world's reconstruction. Viewing the matter from the Bible standpoint, the woild's reconstruction will not be brought a"6out by manjs efforts, nor will it be an accomplished fact until after the final conflict of the Battle of Armageddon. Armageddon means hill of destruction, and all nations are marching thither at the present time. In the final conflict of earth's travailing experiences the hearts of men will be broken and the Kingdom of Christ will be established, bringing about blessing to all mankind. Earth's troubles are traceable to the selfishness of the unseen government, the hand behind the throne, the threefold system of financial, political and religious power which is operating world-wide against the best interests •f the people. This oppression will lead to world-wide distress, and in the conflict which is pending the iniquitous system will be destroyed and the government will fall on the shoulders of Christ, who taught us to pray "Thy Kingdom come on earth." Preparations for - this kingdom have been in operation for the last few thousandyears, during which time God has been selecting the government. The mem- j bers of the new government have been . undergoing an experience of self-disci- ' pline, and when they are thereby taught to govern themselves they are then capable of governing others. The ancient Bible heroes from Abel to John the Baptist will be the earthly representatives of the government, and Christ and all the true Christians of the gospel church will be the controlling power, operating from the the spiritual realms. The prophecies teach that the Gentile times ended in the year 1914, and that from thenceforward the nations are being destroyed, as nations. The Jewish nation will be reestablished in their homeland, and will be the object of international envy. The nations will go up against the Jews, and when it would seem that they will be overcome God will deliver them, and this will be the signal that His kingdom is in control: Millions of peoi>le living now will be .alive at that time, will pass through the troublous period of transition, and being alive when the kingdom is set up will never go into the tomb. They will all require to acknowledge Christ as their King and life giver, and in doing so will then be on a basis of equality. From this common basis, life through the Lord Jesus Christ, the individual units of society will be dealt with, and conforming their lives to the principles of righteousness then operative will be built up into a God-fearing, brotherloving community. When the living nations come into harmony and peace is restored, the resurrection will take place, generation after generation, until in due time the whole human race are brought back from the dead. During this time Satan, the arch-enemy of God and humanity, will be restrained, and when Christ's millennial reign is ended, he will be let loose, prophecy declaring that he will again attempt to deceive the nations. Those who disobey God and follow Satan will be destroyed from among the people, and when that event has taken place the universe will be clean without a trace of sin, and all mankind will be living in a condition of eternal happiness.
