LONDON, Jan. 21. . The Daily Express' Constantinople correspondent says that with a view to lessening the expense of weddings the municipal councils of Anatolia are issuing by-laws for the guidance of bridegrooms. Hitherto the groom celebrated the marriage by taking his friends ito the baths, and it is now ordained that only three friends may accompany him. If music is desired at the wedding the town crier must announce the fact previously. The musicians will be. paid only 12s 6d for two days' and two nights' work, and any excess will be confiscated. Only three carriages may' be sent for the bride, and tips to cabmen are strictly forbidden. Relatives who- give the bride and bridegroom presents are to be punished with fines. The bride'fi dowry must not" be in kind or publicly exposed, and the bride may bring only one piece of furniture to her new home.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
