MOUNT EVEREST
NEW EXPEDITION.

(Received Jan. 11, 9.25 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 10. Arrangements have been completed for the forthcoming third attempt to conquer Mt. Everest. Brigadier Bruce will again be in command, and will be accompanied by Messrs Norton, Mallory, Somervell, Noel Bruce and Morris, members of last year's expedition. The new members are Messrs N. E. Odell, of the Imperial Institute of Science, B. Beetham, A. C. Irvine, of Merton College (Oxford), J. V. Hazard, Major R.Hingstoa, and E. O. Shelboare. The climbing party will be equipped with oxygen apparatus, which will be modified in the light of last year's experience. The expedition will* leave Darjeeling at the end of March, and will follow the 1922 route, via Rongbuk Valley, where it will re-establish the base camp at the e-nd of April. They expect to renew the assault on Everest at the end of May.—Times.
