WEDDING.

HARRIS—HADDON.

The wedding took place on December 19 at the Normanby Methodist Parsonage, Normanby, of John Tenetahi, son of Mr and Mrs George Harris, of Rodney, North Auckland, and Emma Huiaterangi, third daughter of Rev. R. T. S. and Mrs Haddon, of Normanby. Very great interest attached to the ceremony from the fact that Mr Harris isa member of the Ngapuhi tribe, while Mr Haddon is a high descendant of the Ngatiruanui and Ngarauru tribes, and a descendant of the high ancestors of the Ngatirangiwewehi sub-tribe of thfe Te Arawa tribe at Rotorua. The bride, who was given away by her father, was handsomely attired in white silk, with an ! overdress of Maltese lace, trimmed with pearls, and carried with her the orthodox veil and orange blossoms, the dress being made by her sister," Mrs | T. W. Robinson. She also carried a j shower bouquet of pink and cream roses. The bride was attended by her causins, Misses Beaky Gentry and Bell Falwasser, who were also dressed in ! pale pink silk, trimmed with nearls, I carrying also bouquets of roses ..and maiden hair. The bridegroom was at- I tended by his brother, Mr AVilliam ' Harris, and Mr Henry Falwasser, cousin of the bride. The ceremony was performed by Rev. W. J. Oxbrow, Methodist, minister of Hawera. At the wedding breakfast there were a great number of guests invited, both European and Maori, relations and intimate friends of both parties. Thehealth of the bride and the bridegroom j were toasted, and felicitous" speeches made by the Revs. AY. J. Oxbrow Te Rangitewhata Fraser (who is also related to the bride, representing the Ie Arawa tribe), Mrs AVilliams, and I Mrs Lonex, sister of the late Hone I -fleke, M.P., representing the Ngapuhi • *"De- I" the evening a very enjoyi able and successful receotion was held . in honour of the occasion.
