MELBOURNE, Jan. 2. A young man named Harold Morris, residing in Kensington, was suddenly seized with religious mania and fired a shot through the window of a clergyman's residence.
He returned home armed with an axe and a razor, and barricaded himself behind a table in the dining-room, where he defied his parents and the police for two houTs, threatening to take his own life if they advanced. Finally he cut his throat, and was sent to hospital in a critical condition.
