The Liberal Federation at Poona concluded its session after some more resolutions were passed about questions en- | gaging the public mind, including the removal of sex disqualification, and in regard to membership of the Legislatures and" tiie Indianisation of the army; also urging that it is necessary, on both economic and political grounds, that the recruitment of all the public services in future should ordinarily take place only in India, power being reserved to the Raj to recruit experts en special terms for limited periods. The Federation requested the Raj to take up a matter with the Mauritius Government, in regard to impending legislation prejudicially affecting Indians' pohtical rights there, failing which it recommended that Indian labour emigration be stopped.
