S»uth Tarahaki B Visited New Plymouth on Saturday and after a very enjoyable game suffered defeat by three* wickets. The cricket was good, 1 but with the exception of Oakes, the southern captain, not very enterprising. In* Ms second innings Oakes delighted the* spectators with, four sixes. Daviea, Hobday and Lay were the only other South Taranaki men to reach doublefigures. For North Taranaki, Alexander 38, Ferry 36 and B. Lash 26 werethe most successful" batsmen. For South \ Taranaki Davies captured the-bowling - honours with three wickets for 16 runain North's first innigns, and Lay took five wickets for 15 runs in their second" innings.
