THE OLDEST GOLF CLUB

The Royal Blackheath Club is the oldest golf club in existence. The club, which was founded in 1608, was largely instrumental in spreading the game, not only in the London area, but also farther afield where its members found excellent places for golf, notably at Westward Ho, Bombay, and Calcutta.
