The coastal steamer John had a rough trip up from Lyttelton in the teeth of the gale, and was buffeted from the time she left Lyttelton at one o'clock on Thursday afternoon. The ship had an extremely rough time crossing the Strait, but reached Wellington at 1.25 this morning. The high wind yesterday caused the Blenheim, moored in Evans' Bay, to drag her anchor, and the vessel had to he towed to the wharf.
