MOTOR CYCLE TRIALS.

TE KUITI AND BACK

The first and second days of the new year will be ned-letter days for the Jiawera Motor Cycle Club, the annual trial run to T© Kuiti and back having been fixed for those days. That the event is a popular one is evidenced by the fact that 25 entries have befea received. The first pair of cycliscs vvi:i leave the Post Office at 8 o'clock on New Year's morning, and the lemainder of the entrants will follow on at intervals of five minutes. Seciet checks have been located along the route, and iin order to make the journey more difficult and try out tne riders and machines, the track over Taumatamare hill has been chosen. An hour «nd a half will be allowed at ikckau. for lunch, and the first pair is ieiieddci to arrive at Te- Kuiti at about 4 o'clock. Each rider has to ride to a scheduled time, and if he departs from it he lose 3 points. Before leaving Hawera each tool bag will be sealed, and 20 points will be deducted if that seal is broken. A point will also be deducted for each minuto of arrival early or late at the cneckmg stations, ana on home the machines will be examined and points deducted for breakages, or loose nuts or spokes. It will .be interesting to see tne riders arrive back at the Post Office about 4 o'clock on the 2nd.
