BX CABLE—PESdS ASSOCIATION-COPYBIGHT LONDON, Oct. 16. The Economic Conference discussed the problem of maintaining the Imperial Institute. It appeared as if its fate were in the balance, but, as the debate developed, particularly in regard to the potentialities of its research work, it seemed likely to secure a renewed lease of life.

Mr. Massey emphasised the value of iiae institute in its research, work, and pointed out that its work in this respect _ was only beginning to become understood. He added tttot, after the Wembley Exhibition closed, the institute would rely on receiving a valuable aeoesaion to its permanent exhibition of the Dominions' most productive possibilities.
