OPERA HOUSE—TO-MORROW.
FARNUM IN "IF I WERE KlNG.'**
William Farnum, the popular William. i* ox star, is coming to the Opera House; this evening in one of . the most stirring roles of his career. It is that of Francois Villon,, the famous vagabond in Justin Huntly McCarthy's book and play "If I were King"—a role made famous on the stage by E. H. Sothern. Mr. Farnum has given to the screen many o f the most important pictures shown in the last few years. His dual role in "A Tale of Two Cities, Ji Charles Dickens' famous story, is still being shown throughout the United States and Great Britain and on the Continent. It is indeed a classic in motion picture art. Another among Famum's innumerable big pictures is "Les Miserables," which lik* "A Tale of Two Cities," will be showjt and re-shown for years. His "Riders of" the Purple Sage" arid his "Rainbow Trail" drew packed houses wherever shown. The management of the Opera. House puts "If I were-King" at the* top of the list of -all Farnum pictures. The second series of the Beauty by Biograph competition will also be shown

Mr Tano Fania, who is noted for hiss splendid productions in the late Famor:ss Digger Shows, has gone on© bett6f in* presenting the dazzling spectacularpantomime "Dick Whittington." Hewas fortunate while in Sydney in, securing Sir Arthur Collins' (of Drarjr Lane) version of this fine old pantomime, and it is said that no pantomimehas such charm and Qtttaction as: - "Dick Whittingtqn." Mr KaveUo^ animal impersonator, is another link,; with Drury Jjane, he having played ani- ; mal parts there with Wilkie Bard iaM other fine artists. The company .is particularly strong in comedians; Mr Ted Stanley, Mr Will Cass and Mr GeorgeEdwards making up a laughable trio of" humourists. Ivy Bowment, the principal girl, has just concluded a twelveweeks' engagement with Harry Muagrove's Theatres in Australia, whereshe made a great impression. Another artist of note is Miss Alice Manton, a comedienne who spreads happiness and' mirth. The Beauty Ballet and chorus a was selected from the leading theatrer: in Sydney and Melbourne, and is calculated to create, apart from their ability, a good deal of interest from theircharmirig appearance. The scenery - makes for wonderful blending of colouring, and glitter. Three outstanding:settings are the "Tropical 151e,," "The -' 'Palace of Jewels,'* and the "FJtowerSetting." The dresses, particularly in the Lampshade March and the jewes? Scene,,are on a very lavish scale. Box plans will be available "on Friday atr Everybody's Sweet Shop.
