DAIRY PRODUCE.
MARKETING ASSOCIATION.
(BY TBLEGBAPH —PBESS ASSOCIATION^ WELLINGTON, Sept. 20. The annual meeting ,of the New Zealand Producers' Cooperative Marketing Association, Ltd., was held to-day. Mr H, J. Middleton presided, and there were present representatives of dairy companies from the principal dairying districts, comprising 87 companies' which are shareholders "of the association.
The report showed a steady increase in the .volume of business for the year. During the year prices returned to consumers were satisfactory, both for but- - ter and cheese. The association had been responsible for causing their competitors to reduce the London handling charges to the actual cost; which meant a saving to the dairy industry as a whole of over £30,000 a year. A sum of £992 13s was available for distribution to shareholders, but the directors had decided to credit it against unpaid share capital. Produce handled during the season was 86,314 boxes of butter and 92,327 crates of cheese. It was anticipated the present season would, r show a much larger increase in turnover. . a.- .
The chairman complimented the shareholders on the phenomenal success, of operations.
The report was adopted.
