ELTHAM CLUB'S ANNUAL MEETING.

The Eltham Cricket Club held its annual meeting on Wednesday evening. The chairman of the outgoing committee (Mr O. Hemingway) presided | over a good attendance, the junior players being particularly well represented. The following report .was read by the chairman, who also moved its adoption :—' 'l>uiring the past year the club has been fairly successful in the competitions, and both the senior and junior teams were ruiuiers-up in their respective divisions. The batting Honours were captured by the Stewart .brothers in the seniors and H. Donnelly in j the juniors, the latter also claiming the! best junior bowling averages. C. Liltlo ' and xt. Marsh were the most succoss- j ful senior bowlers. Three members of \ the club were chosen for the South I Taranaki representative team, namely, ■ t>te\vart Bros, and C. Little. 1 tree juniors were also chosen, and H. Donnelly bowled unchanged throughout the match against North Taranaxi. The. state of the pitch had occasioned much adverse comment on the rart of the visiting teams, and steps miist bo taken immediately to remedy this. Ail material is being overhauled, and wiih the exception of bats and balJs it/ Mas anticipated that no ne<w material v ould be required. The chairman, in moving the adoption of the report and baLanoe-shtet, referred to the excellent performance of Mr G. Stewart in the senior tfara and Mr. H. Donnelly in the junior. Both these players had done splem.'id- . ly. He complained regarding the ' council's attitude regarding the i>onuse of a mower that had been purchased by local effort for the purpose of entting the grass on the Park, ant 2 assured the committee that an effort would be made to induce the Cou«w..'l to fulfil its undertaking; in the mailer. It was decided that the subscription for this year should be 2<3s seir.m' and 10s 6d for juniors tinder 18.. and a practice subscription of 7s 6\i, payable on or before November 1. Members who have not paid their rees ly that date will be debarred from all privileges of the club until payment is , made. 1 The election of officers for the ensuing year, resulted as follow: - Pi evident, Mr 0. J. Hawken, M.P ; vicepresidents, Messrs P. Ba,vke, \V H. Anderson, C. A. Wilkinson, J., IJ. Dunn and G. W. Tayler; secretary and treasurer, Mr Ansford; committee. Messrs G. Stewart, R. Marsh, O. Hemingway; senior selection committee, Messrs G. Stewart, F. C. Little and team captain; juniors, Messrs H. Donnelly and Cruden; delegates, to South Taranaki Cricket Association, Messrs A. Stewart and R. Lewis.
