DIABETES.

CRITICISM OF NEW REMEDY.

Bl CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Received Sep. 7, 10.5 a.m. ADELAIDE, Sep. 7. Dr. Robertson, Professor of Physiology, Adelaide University, replying to an article published in the Medical Journal casting a doubt on the efficacy of insulin and declaring that it is a dangerous drug by which hundreds of diabetics will be hurried into the grave, says that during eight months the bioche^nical department has been manufacturing insulin, and a considerable number of cases have been treated) by local physicians, and every case had been benefited, some to a most remarkable degree. Although many hundred doses were administered to children as well as adults, not a single instance of dieleterious effect hadl been observed. Dr. Robertson admits that careless administration might be attended by some slight degree of danger, but the same applies to all drugs.—Aus.-N.Z. Cabk Assn.
