KEEN OVERSEAS DEMAND
(By Telegraph—Special to Star.)
. WELLINGTON, Sep. 5. A keen demand for September makes or JSew Zealand butten and cheese is reported to the National Dairy Association. For butter Is 6*d per \b f.o.b. rs,ew Zealand ports, and 10£ d per lb i.o.b for cheese have been offered for the two months mentioned. For cheese made to the end of November 9M h s been offered.- We still hold the opinion that consigning is the best policy, and especially for the earlier months. Indications point to cheese especially realising good prices for the early months. As far as arrivals of cheese m London are concerned there will be a more distinct rate than we have wit- I nessed for some years. The first shipment of cheese for the season of any importance will leave close to the end of September. This will only be available for consumption about the end of November. That will mean that for some months there will be no New Zeala"d cheese arriving on the market, and by the end of November shipments of Canadian will certainly be small. Exports from Montreal, Canada, from May 1 to July 21 are: TJoxes Boxes Butter. Cheese. 1923 1,256 272,822 1922 ■■■■ 117,909 376,579
