After an interval of only fifteen' ; weeks the Association football season-1 has opened and the Scottish League is already in full swing. There have been a few notable transfers. The English clubs mostly commence with , the same players as last season. The, lack of important changes is attributable to the -League's extension. It now embraces 88 clubs,: and enormous rfees are demanded for players. It is stated that the season's highest trans-' fer fee is £5000 paid by Burnley toPlymouth Argyle for Hill, centre half. j
