SEVERAL CHANGES MADE.
DUNEDIN, Aug. 25. js. Smith, of the New South Wale* team, who dislocated his collarbone on Saturday, will be unable to play again on the tour. The New Zealand selectors, Messrs. Stuart, Drake, Griffiths and Parata r have made some drastic changes in tlw* team which was eligible for the first test, and the following players have been selected to meet at Timaru to prepare for the second test, to be played at Christen urch next Saturday: — Backs —Sinclair, Peina, Lucas (Auckland), Ford (Christchurch), Potak» r Bell, Perry (Dunedin), H. E.-NichoU« (Wellington), McCarthy. Forwards.—McLean (Bay of Plenty), Bellis, McMeekirig, R. Donald, West (Taranaki), Williams, Peterson, Brownlie, Richardson, Pringle, Irvine (Hawke's Bay). The following have been dropped? Steel, Snodgrass, Tilyard, Mill, G«mmell, Righton, and Mackereth.
