"Paddy Hannan, of Blenheim, the Australasian. champion. R. ■Coombes, sporting editor of the Sydney ; Referee, has cabled Mr. Furness as follows on Paddon's- behalf: "Paddon's . terms for a race in New Zealand with [ Hannan are £500 a-side and £300 ex- \ penses.'' j Hannan, interviewed regarding Pad- ; don's offer, said: "I am in duty bound !to row Felton first. If Felton won't row—and I think ho will —I may be 1 able to row Paddon earlier than other- ; wise could be expected.'' Hannan has practically made definite arrangements "for a match with Alf. Felton, who has ' again challenged for the Australasian : title, to be rowed at Auckland some I time before Christmas. "Paddy" will | confer with his trainer (Geo.
