THREE OFFICIALS SUSPENDED.

AVANGANUI, Aug. 13l The AVanganui Rugby Union this evening conducted an inquiry into the failure of four Native players—members of the Rata Club, in the Rangitikei Sub-Union—to make the trip with the AVanganui touring team. After a lengthy, hearing, during which the Rangitikei officials admitted, informing the AVanganui delegation erroneously that a sub-union meeting had been held and had rescinded a certain motion, the Rugby Union resolved as follows: — (1) That the suspension of the Rangitikei, Sub-Union be lifted as from tiie 14th instant at 12 noon, its misdemeanours having been covered by open and frank admission of ignorance of the rules. (2) That the four players be censured and their suspension be lifted as from the 14th instant at .12 noon. (3) That Messrs. L. Hammond, C. Gibbons and AVhitcombe (Rangitikei Sub-Union officials) be su&T>efided till the end of the season.. .'•-.''
