Mr. H. B. Wilson, headmaster of the Opotiki Public School, has retired oh superannuation, after 30 years' service, including 22 years as headmaster at Opotiki. ] It is with regret (says- the "Wanganui ( Chronicle) we have to announce the death of Mrs. Doull, wife of Mr. P. Doull, the local Collector of Customs. The deceased lady had been in indifferent health for some time, but her death came unexpectedly. She was walking in her garden yesterday afternoon, but early in the evening took suddenly ill and passed away. 1 The death occurred at Greymouth on : Saturday night of Mrs. Mcßrearty, wife 1 of Dr. J. W. Mcßrearty. The late ' Mrs. Mcßrearty had been ill for some [ time, and her death was not altogether ; unexpected. She was bora in Sydney j 46 years ago. She was a well-reac? ; lady, and a painter of some note. She* j had resided in Greymouth for ma»y years, and was universally admired forth* practical assistance she gave to &ajdeserving cause.
