TWO DIRECTORS IMPRISONED,

(Received Aug. 13, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 12. According to a telegram from Dusseldorf, a court martial at Landau sentenced two directors of the Badische Anilin Company to six years' imprisonment for refusing to assist the French authorities in the seizure of dyestuffs. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
LONDON Aug. 11. Mr. Lloyd George, speaking at Conway, reminded the audience that the first clause of the Versailles Treaty provided for the covenant of the League of Nations, and that fact most people seemed to forget. At the first peace meeting, at which M. Clemenceau. exPresident "Wilson, Signor Orlando,' and himself were present, the first thing they considered was a way to prevent a repetition of a world war. Many conventions and treaties were concluded, but not all had been carried out. The trouble in Europe seemed to be getting worse, but he was hopeful that this was simply the dark hour before dawn.
PARIS, Aug. 10. The Saxon Government has issued an order prohibiting subjects palliating in any way violent acts in the occupied territory. , ''
