FIRE ON STEAMER

INVERCARGILL, Aug. 11. A fire occurred early this moaning on the small steamer Karaka lying at the Bluff wharf. The brigade was promptly on the scene and soon had the outbreak subdued. The centre and superstructure were severely damgaed, and it is estimated that repairs will cost £500.
