Calweart promptly sub--anitted the canvas to M. Cockz, an ■AutVverp expert and 'member of the Academy'-of Beaux Arts. ;;After a &elicabe> washing process the painting was revealed in all its beauty. The expert was able to bring to light 3the half effaced signature of the great 3Bxti,st, Rembrandt, aaid the date, 1 640, when, the painting was executed. -lit is stated that this hitherto unknown came from a collection of jel -very rich English shipbuilder, who was about 50 years ago to it Jk> pay his debts. ; According to experts the picture is , -worth over £50,000. . j j
