It is always a pleasing thing to know of the success of a British production in New Zealand. For instance, in commercial motor-vehicles British makers have a definite lead, and the Leyland machines are deservedly popular all over the Dominion.

The public bodies who have purchased Leylands include the Auckland Tramway Board (3), Central Electric Power Board, Christchurch Tramway Board, Egmont Comity Council, Eltham County Council, Hawera County Couucil (2), Hawke's Bay County Council, Manawatu Electric Fower Board, Opotiki County Council, Opunake Electric Power Board, Oroua County- Council (2), Palmerston North Borough Council. (2), Post and Telegraph Department (17), Railways, New Zealand (3), Rangitikei County Council (4), Southland Electric Power Board (3), State Coal Department, Stratford County Council, Tararua Electric Power Board, Waimate West County Council, Waitotara, County Council, Wellington City Council (3), Wellington Harbour Board, New Brighton Fire Brigade, and the Petone Fire Brigade.
Thk-ty Leyland machines are owned by leading dairy and meat companies, Avhile for all other haulage purposes Leylands hold a strong position.
There is a Taranaki sub-branch in Hawera, the head office for New Zealand being in Wellington. The New Zealand organisation is a branch —not an agency.
