ATTITUDE OF LABOUR

(By Telegraph—Special to Star.) WELLINGTON, July 18. 1 The Labour Party met to hear the views for and against the Dairy Produce Bill.. Mr. W. Grounds, a strong advocate of the pool, spoke on behalf of those farmers who ar© supporting it, and Mr. J. B. McEwan, spoke in opposition on behalf of the proprietary interests engaged in the dairy produce trade. To-morrow the Labour Party will listen to a statement from the re~presentatives of those dairy farmers and co-operative dairy companies in Taranaki who are opposed to the scheme. Afterwards the party will hold a meeting to consider what their attitude should be when the Bill comes before Parliament.
