Boxing classes conducted by "Billy*l Crawford and Geo. Curran have now been resumed. Particulars will be found in an advertisement in this issue The Friendly Societies' euchre parts and dance, arranged for this evening in the Foresters' Hall, promises to Ik a great success. Ten prizes have beer donated, and this will serve to create great interest. The music at the daric* will be provided by Mr. Renwick which is a guarantee of its gooc quality. Everything points to a greal . success. I Dr. Elizabeth Gunn is visiting Hawera this week, and is examining the children at the local schools. To-day andi to-morrow the doctor1 will be examining the infants at the' Main School in Hawera, and special invitations have been sent to the parents of these children giving the time of examination. It is to be regretted, says Dr. Gunn, that more parents have not availed themselves of this invitation. In most towns every mother comes to the school to interview the doctor and to learn the exact state of the child's health. Medical inspection is not (as some people think) to pick out the ill children, but to examine all children and to advise the parents how to keep them healthy. If children were ill they would riot be at school. Dr. Elizabeth Gunn ; is accompanied by two school nurses, I Nurse Wise and l^urse Chapman. !
