Hooker took a series of snaps in differ- j ent parts of the town.and sent.copies"' to the Governor-General. .Yesterday ] he received.a note, personally signed, ; from Lord ... Jellicoe, expressing his thanks for the photographs. He wrote as follows: "Thank yoii so imich for the photographs which you sent me of Hawera during its Empire Week. I hope that the committee and yourself j are quite satisfied with the results ob- ' tamed. My visit was of the greatest possible interest to me.'' j The note shows a kindly and personal thoughtfulness which will be gratifying..: to the receiver as well as to the com- : mittee, and shows the impression made y~n his Excellency. j
