PLUNKET SOCIETY.

MONTHLY MEETING

The monthly meeting of the Plunket Society was held in the Plunket rooms on Friday. Present: Mesdames Bowling (cha;r;, Jobson Graves, Haggett, Hooker, Burdekin, Goodson, Tait (treasurer),* and Miss King (.secretary). Apologies were received from Mesdames Fovster, Brodie, Bone, Godfrey, and Pratt. The resignation of Mrs. Franklin was received. Mrs. Jobson proposed and Mrs. Graves seconded that the secretary write thanking Mrs. Franklin for her ever-ready help, and wishing her a successful voyage. A letter from the president of the Wellington Plunket Society was received. It was dismissed and finally decided that Mesdames Foyster and Bowling and Miss King be a. deputation to wait on the advisory board re the letter.. The nurse's report was read and adopted. It gave the following information : New cases for May 33, mothers and babies to Plunket rooms 762, nurse's visits to homes 517. The arrangements for the Winter Show were then discussed. The secretary had written asking 'for the space. For the hoopla Mesdames Foyster. Burdekin, and Godfrey were made head. Ivirs. Goodson again undertook to organise the street collect-ions to be made during show week. It was also decided to have" a bran tub for the : children, ana tins was left in the hands of Mrs. Tait and Mrs. Hawken. Articles for this will be gratefully received. It was decided that each mem. Tier of the committee get as " many articles as possible. Mrs. Jobson undertook to find ladies who would relieve the nurse for one hour each show day. The secretary was directed to write ; and ask the Borough Council for per- , m'ssion for the street collection. The following subscriptions were J paid: Mesdames Collins lbs. Bowling, , Richardson, Bennxftl, Scannell, and '. Finlay 5s each. [ Accounts amounting to £93 6s 9d , were passed for payment
