LONDON, June 8
The House of Commons debated on the report from the grand committee moh Entwistle 's Matrimonial Causes ißill, which makes the sexes equal in relation to divorce, enabling the wife to obtain a decree for the husband's adultery alone, instead of having as now to prove desertion or cruelty, in .addition to misconduct.
Mr Burnett proposed a new clause, mot depriving, the husband of the custody of the children solely because lie was guilty of ;i single act of misconduct.
• -Mr Chappie, opposing, said that not One woman in a, hundred would seek a petition if she were going to lose the children, notwithstanding it was the husband's infidelity which caused the proceedings.
Mr Eawlinson "*thought that easy divorce would be a curse to the country, and suggested that the Bill would jroSuce thousands of collusive divorces, Jhusbaiids willingly supplying the evidence.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
