Dan-y Stock—Several lines of dairy heifers have changed hands during th« week, the sales mostly being routined to outside buyers, who were after the best quality, two-year-old in-caif Jerseys. The time has arrived when buyers are laying greater stress on butterfat backing, and we have been able to dispose of several lines of high quality heifers by pedigree Jersey bulls from proved butter-fat uroducmg cows at from £15 tfe £16 per head. These were boughlPto go to Whangarei and the Wairarapa. Dairy hereby are quoted from £11. upwards., but as yet few sales have taken place. Cattle—Owing to the low prices ruling for export, the store market is practically lifeless, and sales are only effected at low money. Prime young cows for local trade are making from £4 to £6. There js very little doing in ox beef, the export price being about 17s 6d.

During the week we conducted sales at Opunake, M'anaia, Stratford, and Inglewood. Owing to the .boisterous weather prevailing at the beginning of the week, the entries were not large, and sales were effected at the above prices.
