ROVERS v. HAWERA.

A very interesting match was played yesterday at the Park, when the Hovers, a team from Wellington, met a Hawera team. In the first innings/Hawera totalled only 45, Jones alone.getting into double figures, while their opponents put on 74. Going in again, the local men quickly rattled up 134 tor four pickets. Pratt 57 and Penny ( W scored at a great rate, the latter being especially vigorous, getting three sixes and four fours, while Pratt got six boundaries in his total. Rovers could only get 71, arid victory therefore rested with Hawera by a margin of 34 j rims. It was quite an exciting match. For Rovers, C. Davies 36 in the first j mnmgs, and E. Barton 32, and Cudby . 13 in the second inningg were the only players to get double figures. In the bowling, E. Davies, three wickets for 46 and two for 31, and Rogers seven for 13, were the best of the visitors. For Hawera, Pratt two for 7 and six for 29, I Worrall three for 19 and four for 25, I ond Lay three for 32, were most successful. r . - -■ - ,
