FARM SCHOOL OF INSTRUCTION.
The proposal to form a winter school of instruction for farmers, which it is proposed to hold at Stratford in May, is one. that should commend itself to farmers all over the district. No doubt it would be good to see such a school .established at.-or-near Hawera, aud possibly that could be arranged next year, for demonstrations could be carried on at the Experimental Farm at Moumahaki or at the Demonstration Farm near Manaia, with trips to many a farm which could be regarded as-nearly a model in.many ways. But this year the school is being arranged at.Stratford, and the idea is so good that it deserves hearty support from farmers in the district round the town and as far away as can be reached fairly easily. 'Much "of the most useful practical information could be thereby obtained by all, which could be turned to very useful advantage down here. Fanners •should look at the institution of the classes.in its broadest light and should support them strongly. It is owing mainly to the energy and enterprise of the Stratford .Chamber of Commerce and A. and P*. Association that the classes have been formed. Let Hawera and the Plains combine next year, or perhaps later this year, in. an endeavour to secure the school here. There is no doubt they could do _so..'• The...Manaia ' farm area or even Moumahaki might be used for demonstrations in combination with the many fine improved farms that are to be found in the district. For this occasion it is up to all- parts J to sink any local .feeling they may havel and support Stratford.
