THE DEBT QUESTION.

BY CABLE—PEESS ASSOCIATION—COPYBIGHT JV^AJSHINGTON, Feb. 8. Representative Burton, a iaember of the American Debt Commission, testifying before the Ways and Means Committee of the House, predicted that the full payment of Britain's debt will be made in a little more than ten years. Mr. Burton based his prediction on the belief that Britain will make an effort to take advantage of the lower rate of interest during the first ten years of the funding period. The committee have reported favourably on the Bill, and the House has agreed to take it up to-morrow. Administration leaders hope for its passage by the evening.
