Berneau two and McQirr ml, the overnight batsmen, resumed to the bowling of Calthorpe, whose fifth ball was tipped up by Berneau to Freeman at third man. 315— B—-28 —-2- Alcott partnered McGirr, who took a maiden from Freeman.' Alcott cut Calthorpe >s first ball for four, and McGirr found -the fence with a nice on drive off Freeman. Both batsmen were confident. Gilbson relieved Freeman at 348, and the 350 mark was reached for |41 minutes play. The innings closed for 375.
